HOPEWELL, VIRGINIA: Shatara Price, BA, M.Ed, has been named Chief Executive Officer for Second Chances Comprehensive Services headquartered in Hopewell, Virginia. Franklin Roemer, CEO of Seaside Healthcare, the parent corporation of Second Chances, made the announcement of Price’s appointment. Price graduated with her bachelor’s in business administration from Strayer University in 2015 with a concentration in Human Resource Management. She completed her Masters in Education with a concentration in Adult Leadership in 2020, also from Strayer University and is currently working on her second Masters in Education with a concentration on Clinical Mental Health from Virginia State University. In her healthcare career, Price has worked in the community mental health field for nearly 10 years, with over 8 of those years dedicated to the development and improvement of organizational policies and procedures. She also served as a subject matter expert and professional consultant in the areas of Accreditation, Process Improvement, and Project Management & Employee Relations. She is a member of National Association of Black Counselors (NABC), NAMI Walks Virginia, and is a Certified Therapeutic Options Behavior Management Instructor. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, she and her husband live in Richmond, Virginia.
